Elle Fanning makes her catwalk debut as a Miu Miu model

Maleficent star Elle Fanning made her debut as a runway model on Tuesday (06Mar18) as she hit the catwalk for Miu Miu.

The actress wowed the style crowd, which included Vogue boss, Anna Wintour, in Paris and then admitted her first show for her favorite fashion house was a pure adrenalin rush.

“Oh my God, it was incredible,” she said afterward. “You think it’s just walking but it’s not.”
And she revealed her role as a model in Nicolas Winding Refn’s disturbing 2016 movie The Neon Demon helped prepare her for the role as a real-life fashionista.

“I used tips of what (Australian model) Abbey Lee had taught me, of how to walk and the posture of that,” she explained. “But in a movie, you have a lot of takes and you’re not as nervous. If you mess up, it’s OK; but (here) no, because Anna Wintour’s staring at me, and I was like, ‘I’m not messing up’.”

Elle opened the Miu Miu show, which was attended by Star Wars: The Last Jedi and Game of Thrones star Gwendoline Christie, Rachel Brosnahan, Paul Dano and his actress girlfriend Zoe Kazan, and Stranger ThingsDavid Harbour, who recently returned from an expedition to Antarctica for Greenpeace.

His girlfriend, actress and singer Alison Sudol, was also in the front row at the Miu Miu show after joining the actor on his wintry expedition.

“We took an icebreaker boat down through the Drake Passage, some of the roughest water in the world, which was rather intense,” the Fantastic Beasts & Where to Find Them star told WWD.com. “Neither one of us are sailors particularly and there was a lot of sea sickness meds going on. We just got back, so this is literally the polar opposite.”
