Elle King’s now-estranged husband was reportedly arrested for domestic violence weeks before their separation.
The Ex’s & Oh’s singer revealed on Instagram this week (beg15May17) that she had secretly married Andrew Ferguson three weeks after they met in February 2016 and they were due to have a big wedding ceremony in April but have now separated.
It has since emerged that on 23 April, the couple had a violent altercation in their Los Angeles home and during the argument, Andrew allegedly grabbed her by the throat, threw her on to a bed and threatened to kill her, according to TMZ.com.
Law enforcement sources told the website that police officers found scratches on the singer’s neck and marks on her arm, but Andrew claimed he tossed her on the bed to stop her hitting her head against a wall.
He was arrested and booked for felony domestic violence, but Elle, 27, decided not to press charges, telling cops things just got out of hand while they were partying, so the district attorney’s office declined to move forward with the case.

Announcing her secret marriage and subsequent split the daughter of comic actor Rob Schneider wrote on Instagram, “This photo was taken today, 5/15/2017. Elle sparked rumors in April that she had ditched her own wedding when she shared a picture from an Eagles of Death Metal show in New York and told followers she had “skipped out on my wedding” and “married Rock&Roll instead”.
