Ellen Pompeo: ‘My lunchtime hotel meeting with Harvey Weinstein was all business’

Grey’s Anatomy star Ellen Pompeo insists Harvey Weinstein knew better than to come on to her during a lunchtime hotel meeting.

The actress tells The Hollywood Reporter she once met with the disgraced movie mogul in his suite at the Peninsula hotel in Beverly Hills, but there was no misconduct involved – because she made it clear she was all business and no nonsense.

“My agent once sent me to see Harvey, too,” she recalls. “I went right up to his room at the Peninsula, which I would never normally do, but Harvey was a New York guy, so it made sense. Plus, it was in the middle of the day, and he had an assistant there.

“He didn’t try anything on me. Had he, I’m a little rough around the edges and I grew up around some very tough people, so I probably would have picked up a vase and cracked him over the f**king head.

“But I also feel completely comfortable saying that I walked into that room batting the s**t out of my eyelashes. My goal in that room was to charm him, as it is in most rooms like that.”

Unlike Ellen, many actresses have come forward with tales of alleged sordid encounters with Weinstein in hotel rooms. Many, like Ashley Judd, Rose McGowan, and Asia Argento, have accused the producer of forcing them to perform sex acts or urging them to massage him or take a shower with him.

Weinstein, who is currently seeking treatment and counseling in Arizona, insists he never had non-consensual sex with anyone.

The producer’s alleged sexual misconduct was first detailed in two exposes published by The New York Times and the New Yorker in October (17).
