Emily Blunt & Idris Elba Land Evening Standard Film Nods

Emily Blunt and Idris Elba have landed top acting nominations for the 2016 Evening Standard British Film Awards.

The Devil Wears Prada star, who has been largely snubbed from awards shortlists so far, has received a nomination for Best Actress for Sicario ahead of the U.K. movie event, which has been revived after a three-year absence.

She will compete against Charlotte Rampling (45 Years), Maggie Smith (The Lady in the Van) and Saoirse Ronan (Brooklyn), and Elba will battle with Michael Fassbender (Macbeth and Steve Jobs) and Tom Courtenay (45 Years).

British drama 45 Years is also nominated for Best Film alongside Brooklyn, High-Rise and The Lobster, and Amy Winehouse film Amy earned a Best Documentary nod.

The Lobster stars Colin Farrell and Olivia Colman will go up against each other, and Emma Thompson (

) for the Award for Comedy prize, and Game of Thrones actress Maisie Williams and model-turned-actress Agyness Deyn scored a Rising Star nod for The Falling and Sunset Song respectively.

New category Blockbuster of the Year will be voted for by U.K. film fans. The shortlist includes Avengers: Age Of Ultron, Fifty Shades Of Grey, Furious 7, Jurassic World, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2, Spectre, Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens and animations Inside Out, Home and Minions.

The winners will be announced at a London ceremony on 7 February (16).
