Jennifer Lopez finally makes contact with lost Puerto Rican relatives after hurricane

Jennifer Lopez is breathing a sigh of relief after learning all family members who were in Puerto Rico when Hurricane Maria struck last week (end22Sep17) are alive and well.
The Love Don’t Cost a Thing singer/actress, who was born in New York City to Puerto Rican parents, previously expressed her fears for her relatives after struggling to make contact with them in the immediate aftermath of the storm, which knocked out power to buildings across the island.
However, there was good news from J.Lo on Wednesday (27Sep17) as she announced the last of her missing loved ones had managed to reach out.
“After a long 6 days we found the last of the family!” she captioned a sweet Instagram video of her aunt and uncle. “Now the rebuilding begins!!”
The news emerged hours after Jennifer and her ex-husband Marc Anthony, who is also of Puerto Rican heritage, unveiled plans to reunite to help islanders rebuild from the storm, which left millions homeless and without electricity, by launching their Somos Una Voz (We’re Once Voice) initiative. Through the campaign, they are teaming up with fellow celebrities, including Jennifer’s boyfriend Alex Rodriguez, Ed Sheeran, Jada Pinkett Smith, Pitbull, Ricky Martin, and Vin Diesel, to raise money and collect supplies for the nation’s most needy people.
The donations collected through the alliance will go to the American Red Cross, Reach Out Worldwide, United Way, and United for Puerto Rico.
Jennifer has also donated $1 million (£745,900) of her own money to help survivors of Hurricane Maria.
