Emma Roberts’ Delirium pilot rejected by TV bosses

Actress Emma Roberts has been left disappointed after her new TV pilot, based on sci-fi novel Delirium, was rejected by U.S. network bosses. The Scream 4 star was cast as the lead in the small screen adaptation of Lauren Oliver’s book, about a teen in a dystopian future where love is outlawed, and the show was greenlighted by Fox bosses, but executives decided to pass on the project after viewing the pilot episode.
Taking to her Twitter.com blog on Thursday (09May13), Roberts shares her dismay with fans, writing, “Sad about Delirium. Thank you guys so much for your support!!!”
Roberts isn’t the only movie star to suffer a career setback with a TV snub – Virginia Madsen and Rebecca DeMornay’s modern version of Kevin Costner’s mini-series Hatfields & McCoys, co-produced by Charlize Theron, also failed to get picked up by heads at the NBC network, who initially showed interest in the project.
