Eva Mendes is happy to let her daughters pick out their own outfits.
The actress and her long-term partner Ryan Gosling are parents to three-year-old Esmeralda and 22-month-old Amada. And despite their young ages, Eva lets her girls have total control over the clothes they want to wear.
“Thank God there’s no fashion talk. But I let them wear whatever they want,” she said in an interview with E! News. “They have the right… they want to wear jammies all day or if they want to go in a costume to the market, I let them do that stuff.
“I let them win that battle. That’s the easy one. I’m trying to get them to eat broccoli. That’s the one I want to win.”
The pair will no doubt ask their famous mum for style advice one day, as Eva heads up her own fashion line The Eva Mendes Collection for brand New York & Company.
On Monday (19Mar18), the 44-year-old beauty showed off her latest designs in New York. Explaining her new offerings consist of “everyday chic, easy, versatile, everyday pieces,” Eva unveiled graphic tees, dresses and ruffled maxi skirts.
And the Hitch star admitted that being a mother of two has influenced the design process.
“I’m still new to the game. I feel like in a way (being a mum) makes me care less because it prioritizes everything obviously, but at the same time it makes me care more,” she explained. “Even though I have less time to think about what I’m wearing for my day or how to put something together, I think of it more in a sense of even if I’m not with my kids, I’m always representing them. It’s always on my mind.
“I’m somebody’s mother and I need to act accordingly. There’s an intense amount of pressure that I feel but it’s good pressure.”
