Film producer Richard Brick dies

Film producer Richard Brick died on Wednesday (02Apr14) at the age of 68. Brick is most famous for his work with Woody Allen, producing three of the director’s films, Deconstructing Harry, Celebrity and Sweet and Lowdown.
He also worked on 1991 comedy Hangin’ with the Homeboys, Johnny Depp’s 1993 film Arizona Dream and erotic thriller Caught in 1996.
Brick was an official at the Directors Guild of America for more than a decade, commissioner of the New York City’s Mayor’s Office of Film, Theatre & Broadcasting from 1992 to 1994 and a film professor at Columbia University in the Big Apple.
Directors Guild of America President Paris Barclay says, “As a former New York City film commissioner, Richard had a unique perspective about the needs of our members within the broader entertainment community… Our thoughts are with his family and friends.”
Brick’s cause of death was not known as WENN went to press.
