Fire on Die Hard set in Hungary

Crewmembers were shooting an action scene involving a helicopter for A Good Day to Die Hard, which saw a building set ablaze for the sequence.

However, the blades of the chopper appeared to stoke the fire and the flames quickly engulfed the whole structure, reports Eonline.com.

No one was injured in the blaze, which was soon extinguished, and none of the film’s main stars, including Bruce Willis and Patrick Stewart, were onset at the time of the incident.

A statement released by 20th Century Fox bosses reads: “There was a fire on the set of A Good Day to Die Hard in Hungary. No one was injured by the flames, which occurred during a pyrotechnics stunt just after midnight on Thursday (05Jul12), and were contained a short while later. Bruce Willis, was not on set, nor were other principal cast. Principal photography on the movie began in April in Budapest, and is expected to wrap late summer.”

A Good Day to Die Hard is the fifth movie in the franchise and is due to hit cinemas in February, 2013.
