Foo Fighters guitarist wants rock biopic

Foo Fighters guitarist Chris Shiflett wants his band to follow Queen by getting their own rock biopic.
Bohemian Rhapsody, the British band’s film documenting their highs and lows with frontman Freddie Mercury, was a surprise global blockbuster hit last year, and even won four Oscars.
Having watched the film, Chris, 48, would like his band and their own iconic singer Dave Grohl, to get similar treatment.
“I loved the Queen film and I expected to hate it because I never like movies about people that I know what they look like, when it’s too recent,” he tells Britain’s Daily Star newspaper. “Like if you see Johnny Rotten, you’re like, ‘nah that’s nothing like Johnny’. But I thought their movie was fantastic. I hope there’s a Foo Fighters movie one day, I think that would be f**king great. I’d watch it.”
Dave has joked that he’d like The Shining star Shelley Duvall to play him in any Foo Fighters film and Chris has a similarly left field choice – the late Paul Newman, who died in 2008.
However, the Best of You hitmaker accepts Paul is, “probably not available”.
Foo Fighters play the Leeds Festival in England on Friday (23Aug19) and sister event Reading on Sunday.
