Former Black Flag bandmates settle trademark dispute

Punk icon Greg Ginn and his former Black Flag bandmates have reached a settlement over the group’s logo rights. Ginn, the founding member of the group, who is currently fronting a Black Flag reunion project, sued Keith Morris, Chuck Dukowski, Dez Cadena and Bill Stevenson over the iconic logo last year (13).
He also claimed the name of their band, FLAG, was owned exclusively by his label, SST, and he sought an injunction against a planned tour. He lost that battle, but now a settlement has been reached in the trademark case.
Full details have yet to be released, but Ginn’s lawyer Evan Cohen tells The Hollywood Reporter, “FLAG gets to be FLAG, and Black Flag, as it is presently known, continues to be Black Flag.”
