Former New York ballet star injured in rampage

A former dancer with the New York City Ballet is recovering after he was stabbed in the chest trying to protect his young son from a blade-wielding maniac. James Fayette was walking with 18 month old Luke in Riverside Park in the Big Apple on Tuesday (01Oct13) when he was confronted by a man carrying a pair of scissors.
Fayette tried to flee but was forced to smother his son and suffer a stab wound to the chest to protect the boy from the crazed attacker.
He tells the New York Daily News, “I had to take his attack to save my son. He was a big dude. I don’t know if it was adrenaline or what, but I was successful in grabbing his arm and stopping him from getting my son.”
Fayette was among five New Yorkers, including a female jogger, who were injured in the bloody rampage on Tuesday. A man was arrested at the scene.
