The doctor who worked for Team USA Gymnastics and was accused of sexual assault by several top stars is facing up to 40 years in prison after pleading guilty to molestation charges.
Larry Nassar pleaded guilty to seven counts of criminal sexual assault in the first degree in court in Michigan on Wednesday morning (22Nov17).
Olympic gymnasts Aly Raisman, McKayla Maroney, and Gabby Douglas were among those who accused Nassar of molesting them, claiming he would tell girls he was performing a routine medical exam, and then take advantage of them.
Court referring to Larry as DOCTOR Nassar. I AM DISGUSTED. I am very disappointed. He does NOT deserve that. Larry is digusting. Larry is a MONSTER not a doctor.

Raisman took to Twitter after the disgraced doctor’s court appearance and wrote: “Court referring to Larry as DOCTOR Nassar. I AM DISGUSTED. I am very disappointed. He does NOT deserve that. Larry is disgusting. Larry is a MONSTER not a doctor.”
Douglas, the most famous member of the USA Gymnastics team – known as the Fierce Five, released a statement on Twitter on Tuesday, accusing Nassar of assault and stating she didn’t speak out earlier because “we were conditioned to stay silent”.
“I didn’t publicly share my experiences as well as many other things because for years we were conditioned to stay silent and honestly some things were extremely painful,” Douglas wrote. “I wholeheartedly support my teammates for coming forward with what happened to them.”
