Foundation established in Troy Gentry’s memory

Country stars Blake Shelton, Dustin Lynch, and Eddie Montgomery are joining forces to salute late pal Troy Gentry at the launch of a charity founded in his memory.
Rascal Flatts, Justin Moore, Craig Morgan, Jon Pardi, and Jimmie Allen will also be among the stars gathering at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, Tennessee in January (19) to help celebrate the Troy Gentry Foundation, which will provide financial aid to causes close to the tragic singer’s heart: cancer research, music education, and support for the military.
“Troy was taken too soon, but we felt his dreams and dedication to helping others needed to continue,” explains his widow Angie, according to AllAccess.com.
The news emerges a month after Troy’s Montgomery Gentry bandmate and close friend, Eddie Montgomery, marked the first anniversary of his pal’s passing with a sweet tribute on social media.
“I’ll tell you what, there’s not a day that goes by that I don’t miss my brother in crime, T-Roy,” he shared in a video message to fans.
Troy, 50, died on 8 September, 2017 after a helicopter, in which he was a passenger, crashed ahead of the band’s concert in New Jersey.
