Foxygen cancel shows as singer undergoes surgery

Cult rockers Foxygen have scrapped more dates to allow frontman Sam France to recover from surgery after breaking a leg during a gig. The band was forced to halt a gig in Minnesota on Monday night (29Jul13) after the singer slipped and fell into a barricade at the front of the stage.
He was taken to a local hospital with a suspected broken leg, and now the group has cancelled upcoming shows in Vancouver, Canada and Seattle, Washington as a result.
A statement posted on the band’s Facebook.com page reads, “Sadly, the Vancouver & Seattle shows will have to be cancelled. Sam needs to have surgery this morning. We will be back. Still a chance that Pickathon (music festival in Oregon) shows will happen, though they might be subdued performances. It all depends on healing & travel time. On the bright side, Sam will probably have a cool cane or something. Thank you all for understanding… We’ll play again soon”
