Pitbull lends private plane to cancer patients stranded in Puerto Rico

Pitbull has lent his private plane to help transport cancer patients stranded in Puerto Rico back to America for treatment.
The 36-year-old rapper’s good deed was revealed by Puerto Rican Congresswoman Jenniffer Gonzalez, who thanked him in a tweet written in Spanish on Tuesday (26Sep17) which, translated, read: “Thank you @pitbull for lending your private plane to move cancer patients from PR to USA so that they can get chemo.”
The Timber star, real name Armando Christian Perez, confirmed he’s been trying to help in a statement to People.com which read: “Thank God we’re blessed to help. Just doing my part.”
Pitbull is the latest music star to do his bit in the wake of the devastation caused on the island of Puerto Rico by Hurricanes Irma and Maria. Marc Anthony and his ex-wife Jennifer Lopez have both issued video pleas for their fans to donate to hurricane relief funds, while stars including Marc and Luis Fonsi will be performing at the Unidos Por Puerto Rico (United for Puerto Rico) concert and telethon event on 22 October.
While the event was originally organised in early September following Hurricane Irma, it has now been changed to also raise money for those affected by Maria as well.
