Freddie Starr detained in connection to Savile scandal

Starr was arrested in Warwickshire, England on Thursday (01Nov12) and taken into custody on suspicion of sexual offences.

The news comes after last weekend’s (28Oct12) arrest of disgraced pop star Gary Glitter as cops continue Operation Yewtree, an investigation into claims that Savile abused up to 300 youngsters throughout his long-running entertainment career.

Starr, famous for his musical and insult comedy, has denied groping a 14-year-old girl while in a room with Savile.

Savile died last year (11), aged 84.
