A small screen version of SIGOURNEY WEAVER and ALAN RICKMAN’s cult sci-fi comedy GALAXY QUEST is in the works.
Bosses at Paramount Television have recruited the 1999 film’s director Dean Parisot, producer Mark Johnson, and screenwriter Robert Gordon to return for the TV reboot as executive producers, according to Deadline.
Galaxy Guest revolved around the cast of a cancelled TV sci-fi show who become reluctant real-life space heroes recruited to save an alien nation.

The movie, which also featured Tim Allen, Tony Shalhoub and Sam Rockwell, has achieved cult status among sci-fi fans.
