Gavin Rossdale doesn’t want his kids to follow him into music.
The Bush frontman has sons Kingston, 10, Zuma, eight, and three-year-old Apollo with ex-wife Gwen Stefani, as well as daughter Daisy Lowe, 28, from a previous relationship.
While Daisy is a well-known model, Gavin isn’t keen for his other kids to follow in their parents’ footsteps.
“You’ve got to be crazy to have a career in music. I would say go into tech, do something like that,” he said during an appearance on British TV show This Morning.
“I have so many children, it is my responsibility to make them contribute to society as oppose to take away from society. So whatever they do is fine by me, they’ve just got to be positive, cool people, that’s all I care about.”
Gavin and Gwen split in 2015 after 13 years of marriage, following reports Gavin had been unfaithful with the family’s nanny.
Asked if Gwen still inspires his music, Gavin told hosts Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby: “Of course. I was with her for 20 years, so much in the same way, I think, for her material, I’m all over that material. And for me, she’s all over mine. It’s impossible to separate that.”
The 51-year-old also spoke about his current job judging singing hopefuls on TV talent contest The Voice UK, confessing he thought he was being pranked when he landed the gig.
“I thought I was being Punk’d. I thought it was an Ant and Dec (British presenters) thing,” he smiled.
