Comedian George Lopez has reportedly pulled out of TV appearances in the Big Apple due to health concerns.

The 55-year-old funnyman was scheduled to appear on shows The View and Late Night with Seth Meyers in New York this week (beg27Mar17) but has reportedly pulled out of the appearances, citing a knee injury as the reason.

“He’s taking a break from traveling after being on the road. He injured his knee and he didn’t go to New York because of his health, but he’s fine,” a source told New York Post gossip column Page Six.
Lopez’s cancellations come in the wake of a comment he made on social media about President Donald Trump’s daughter Ivanka in response to one of his Instagram followers.

On a video of two dogs mating, a fan wrote, “Yo @georgelopez when (are) we gonna pimp Ivanka, because Backpage (classifieds site) is calling her name right now,” to which Lopez controversially replied, “She’s ready”.

The comic has defended his comment, which has since been deleted, telling TMZ.com, “I don’t regret anything. And what comment? It’s two words!”

According to Page Six, there were rumblings at network ABC that Lopez cancelled his appearance on The View to avoid addressing the Ivanka Trump row but a Lopez source told Page Six he was still doing press in Los Angeles and would reschedule the New York appearances.

Reps for ABC and  did not comment to the news outlet.
