Harvey Weinstein’s estranged wife, fashion designer Georgina Chapman, is reportedly in line to receive a $12 million pay out if they move forward with their divorce.
The former couple, which shares two young children, wed 10 years ago on Friday (15Dec17), and although Chapman is said to have hired a divorce attorney, she has yet to file court papers to make the separation official.
However, according to the pair’s prenuptial agreement, the Brit will walk away from the marriage a rich woman, with sources telling TMZ.com Weinstein had promised to pay Chapman $300,000 in spousal support for each year they were married.
The document also detailed how they would split their marital assets, with Chapman getting $250,000 per year for the first five years of their union, and $700,000 for each additional year, reportedly taking her lump sum payment to $4.75 million.
She will also be given up to $3 million in housing allowance.
The terms of the pre-nup include a gag order, with neither party allowed to disclose information about their personal business or discuss their financial agreement in public.
Weinstein, who is said to be worth an estimated $250 million, has been hit with harassment and assault allegations from more than 50 women, including Gwyneth Paltrow, Angelina Jolie, and most recently Salma Hayek, while some others have accused the producer of rape.
He is facing police investigations in New York, Los Angeles, and London, but has continued to deny all accusations of non-consensual sex.
The Weinstein scandal inspired other victims of sexual misconduct to go public with accusations against other big names, such as filmmakers James Toback and Brett Ratner, rap mogul Russell Simmons, and actors Kevin Spacey and Dustin Hoffman.
