Gerard Butler Regrets Getting High at Pal Barbra Streisand’s Concert

Gerard Butler attempted to avoid Barbra Streisand at one of her concerts because he was “so stoned”.

The Scottish actor and the music superstar have become firm friends after they were sat next to each other at the Governors Ball following the 82nd Academy Awards in 2010 and discovered they share a mutual interest in architecture.

But even though Gerard is a big fan of Barbra he really didn’t want to bump into her at a show, as he hadn’t yet responded to an invitation to visit her home, and had consumed a baked good infused with cannabis prior.

“I was at her concert and my friend gave me a bite of a cookie and it turned out it was a little bit of a hash cookie, and I hadn’t really eaten hash cookies. I got so stoned,” he recalled during an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Monday night (15Jan18).

Gerard then shared how he became red-faced when he ended up coming face to face with the Funny Girl star, as she called him out for his lack of response to her invite.

“So, I ran into her at the concert and I was trying to get away because I don’t know what to say because I’m stoned. There’s a bunch of people looking at me and she looks at me and says, ‘You didn’t call.’ So, I thought, ‘O.K. I’m going to get out of this really brilliantly,’ and I said, ‘I know’. That was my answer,” the 48-year-old laughed.

During his interview, Gerard also discussed his new movie Den of Thieves, which also features Pablo Schreiber, O’Shea Jackson Jr., and Curtis ’50 Cent’ Jackson. And he explained that he struggles to get a word in edgeways during press tours because 50 Cent loves to chat.

“You don’t share the spotlight with 50, it’s 50’s spotlight. We’ve been doing a lot of intros and he does love to take the mic and just give it the 50 show. But to be honest, it’s been awesome. He’s so funny, it’s hard to follow that,” he added.
