Geri Horner gives emotional first TV performance of George Michael tribute song

Geri Horner gave her first TV performance of her George Michael tribute song, Angels In Chains, on Monday night (26Jun17).
The former Spice Girls star has returned to the musical arena, appearing on The One Show to perform her first single in 10 years, which is dedicated to the her close pal George, who died on Christmas Day (16) aged 54.
It was a poignant appearance for the mother of two, who sang the moving lyrics, “Who knows why the good die young? / I wonder where you’ve gone” and “We say goodbye / It’s time to heal the pain,” on the track with backing vocals provided by a choir.
The Mi Chico Latino singer teamed up with several musicians who performed alongside the late star to work on the new song, including George’s former bandmate Shirley Lewis.
Ahead of her performance, Geri shared details about her relationship with George and how his death continued to affect her.
She found out George had died on Christmas Day via Twitter, and said the impact of hearing the dreadful news left her feeling like the “walking wounded”.
“I didn’t believe it at first. I didn’t know how to process it, and I was very heavily pregnant so my hormones were all over the place,” she explained.
Following the performance, Geri headed out with her husband Christian Horner and the couple were spotted leaving celeb haunt Chiltern Firehouse hand in hand.
Geri and Christian welcomed son Montague George Hector Horner in January, naming the tot after her famous pal. She also has 11-year-old daughter Bluebell with ex Sacha Gervasi.
The 44-year-old previously revealed that recording the song brought up a lot of unresolved feelings for her.
“Yes, it was very emotional. It made me realise that the power of each other, coming together, we can heal each other by just being open,” she told Billboard magazine.
