Geri Horner Joins ‘Ferdinand’ Voice Cast

Former Spice Girl Geri Horner will lend her voice to a character in the U.K. release of animated movie Ferdinand.

Geri has signed up for a cameo as a ‘scared mother’ in the film, which stars wrestler John Cena as the title character, a pacifist fighting bull.

The Look At Me singer said in a press release: “I’m a massive fan of animation and I’m thrilled to be part of the film. I play an upset bossy woman, so I had a lot to draw from!”

Geri has been busy lately trying to organize a full Spice Girls reunion, but plans were abandoned when Victoria Beckham and Melanie Chisholm refused to rejoin the five-piece group.

“I really pushed to get everyone back together. It got to the point where I just had to let it go,” she told Red magazine earlier this month (Nov17). “I still love the girls, and there are other bits and bobs in the pipeline.”

In addition to Ferdinand’s main cast, which includes Kate McKinnon, Bobby Cannavale, David Tennant and Gina Rodriguez, the movie also features cameo roles from local stars in each territory it is released in.

Other members of the U.K. and Ireland cast include British radio DJ Roman Kemp, Irish fashion blogger Pippa O’Connor, and popular YouTube stars Georgie and Darren Fizz.

Ferdinand, which follows the bull’s attempts to outwit matadors and earn his freedom, is released on 9 December (17).
