Gigi Hadid: ‘Fame makes you feel out of control’

Gigi Hadid has opened up about how she deals with fame in an emotional interview for Variety’s Power of Women issue.

The 23-year-old broke down in tears as she confessed to the U.S. publication that, while she loves her career as one of the world’s most celebrated models, she finds life in the spotlight “tough”.

“It makes me emotional because, at times, fame makes you feel out of control of your life,” she reflected. “I think it’s tough. Obviously, people judge you.”

Gigi suggested that she finds strength and comfort in the famous women around her and cited her good pal Taylor Swift as a constant source of support.

The beauty went on claim that she has been a fan of Taylor’s music since she was a child and admitted that she relates to the Look What You Made Me Do hitmaker on a personal level, as well as through her famously confessional song lyrics.

“An amazing thing about my friendship with Taylor has been that she is a songwriter that I’ve connected to through my childhood into my adult life,” she shared.”And us becoming friends has given me an insight into the mind that creates those lyrics.”

Gigi went on to gush over the Shake It Off songstress, lauding her as a “woman (who is) able to own what she’s been through,” and labelling her “amazing and empowering”.

The blonde star became friends with Taylor, 29, when she appeared in the 2015 music video for her hit Bad Blood, alongside models Cara Delevingne, Karlie Kloss, and Cindy Crawford.
