Gillian Anderson in talks to join the cast of Andorra

Gillian Anderson is rumoured to be in talks to star in movie drama Andorra.
The actress, who starred in sci-fi drama series The X Files, has been linked to join Clive Owen, Toni Collette, and Joanna Lumley in the cast of Andorra.
The drama, by veteran Australian director Fred Schepisi, follows an American named Alexander Fox (played by Owen) who settles in the small country of Andorra and soon finds himself at the centre of a murder investigation when he becomes linked to a dead body floating in the harbour.
According to movie website Variety, Lumley is set to play housewife Mrs Dent, while Miss Quay, the kayaking matriarch of an Andorran dynasty, is set to be played by Anderson.
The story is based on the novel of the same name by Peter Cameron. Cameron is adapting the screenplay and Jump Street Films’ Jamie Bialkower is producing the film alongside Lizzette Atkins for Unicorn Films, and Italian production partner David Nichols from Cineroma. Shooting is expected to start next April (2017) in Italy.
Academy Award nominee and BAFTA winner James Ivory who worked on movies The Remains of the Day and Howards End is the executive producer.
The film is reported to have a budget of A$16 million (US$12 million), post production is expected to follow in Australia and Celluloid Dreams will handle international rights sales.
It’s not the first time one of Cameron’s novels have made it onto the big screen – his 2002 novel The City of Your Final Destination was adapted into a film directed in 2009 by Ivory for Merchant Ivory Productions and Hyde Park Entertainment.
