Gillian Anderson is the latest star to shed her clothes for People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA).

Following in the footsteps of Pink, Taraji P. Henson, and Khloe Kardashian, The X-Files actress is the new face of the animal rights organizations I’d Rather Go Naked Than Wear Fur campaign.

Protecting her modesty with her hands, the 49-year-old shows off her flawless figure in the new advert, wearing cute cat ears and her blonde hair in bouncy curls.

“I found it liberating to use my body to make an important statement,” Gillian said in a statement. “People tend to look away from anti-fur ads showing mangled animals, but they’re drawn to PETA’s ‘naked’ campaign, and I’m proud to be a part of it.”

The black and white image features the slogan in bright pink and will be on display during New York Fashion Week on a 70-foot billboard hanging over Penn Station.

Gillian is a long-time supporter of PETA’s work. In 2015, she teamed up with Bryan Fuller, who cast her in his TV series Hannibal, for a creepy ad which saw her sitting at a table in front of a meat feast.

“Eating meat? It’s a matter of taste,” she says to the camera, as it pans to reveal that the roasted leg on the elegant platter is her own.

“Writing Hannibal made me realize that human beings and other animals have more similarities than differences,” Bryan said at the time. “It had a direct impact on how I view meat and what I put in my body. Eating another sentient being is no different than eating another human being, in my mind. The trauma of Hannibal cuts both ways.”
