Gina Lollobrigida battling son over her fortune

Italian movie legend Gina Lollobrigida has become embroiled in a legal battle with her son after he claimed the retired film star is no longer able to manage her own affairs. Milko Skofic, Jr., the sole heir to Lollobrigida’s $48 million (£30 million) estate, has requested an independent court-appointed administrator be brought in to handle his mother’s fortune.
He tells Italian newspaper Il Messaggero, “My mother needs an administrator – I fear she may no longer be capable of handling her affairs by herself.”
Lollobrigida, 86, is preparing to fight the case, which will be heard in an Italian court next month (Apr14).
She says, “(I am) perfectly capable… I am still travelling non-stop, all over the world. I flit back and forth to Monte Carlo all the time.”
Miss Lollobrigida’s agent, Paola Comin, adds to British newspaper the Daily Mail, “She is certainly mentally present and has no need of a court appointed administrator.”
Skofic, Jr. is the actress’ only child from her first marriage to doctor Milko Skofic. They were married for more than 20 years before their divorce in 1971.
