Gisele showed her support for a protest against President Donald Trump on the same day her husband Tom Brady cancelled a visit to the White House.
The Brazilian supermodel shared a link to the Years of Living Dangerously project, a documentary series aired by the National Graphic Channel which highlights the startling effects of global warming.
The project also supports the People’s Climate March on 29 April (17), and Gisele, who is also listed as a correspondent for the Years of Living Dangerously project, implored her followers to take part.
“March for climate, jobs, and justice. To change everything, we need everyone,” she wrote on Wednesday (19Apr17). The post has since been deleted.
President Trump’s administration has been revoking previous POTUS Barack Obama’s environmental protection laws since he took office, angering climate change protesters.
The mother-of-two’s criticism comes on the same day her NFL husband Tom Brady skipped a visit to the White House with his New England Patriot’s teammates. The 39-year-old quarterback cited “personal family matters” as the reason for his absence from the trip to Washington D.C. to celebrate their Super Bowl victory.
“In light of some recent developments, I am unable to attend today’s ceremony, as I am attending to some personal family matters,” Brady said in a statement to ESPN on Wednesday. “Hopefully, if we accomplish the goal of winning a championship in the future years, we will (be) back on the South Lawn again soon. Have a great day!”
It is thought the football player will be spending time with his mother, Galynn, who has been battling cancer since last year (16).
Brady is a longtime friend of Trump, and said in the early days of the Republican’s election campaign last year he hoped his golfing buddy would win the election against political rival Hillary Clinton.
