Goodman may star as R&B songwriter

John Goodman may star in a film biography of R&B songwriter Doc Pomus, who, with Mort Shuman, wrote such late-’50s and early-’60s hits
as This Magic Moment, Save the Last Dance for Me, Teenager in Love
and Little Sister, according to FoxNews.com’s Roger Friedman.

Pomus, who died in 1991, was the younger brother of famed divorce
attorney Raoul Felder, who told Friedman that his family (his daughter
Rachel is a former record-company executive) had been hoping to get a
film made about Doc’s life for years.

“But it had to be with someone who
could sing. When we heard John was interested and that he could sing —
he just sang on Saturday Night Live — that sounded like a good
thing.”
