Greg Norman injured in chainsaw accident

Golf legend Greg Norman is recovering after a freak chainsaw accident on Saturday (13Sep14), which almost cost him his left hand. The two-time British Open champion admits he was “lucky” after hacking into his arm while trimming trees on his estate in Florida.
Norman just missed cutting through a main artery and tendon and managed to get to a nearby hospital in time to save his hand.
He posted a photo of himself with a bandaged left hand and arm to his Instagram account on Saturday and added the caption, “Working with a chainsaw ALWAYS be respectful of the unexpected. I was one lucky man today. Damaged, but not down & out. Still have left hand.”
Norman tells Associated Press, “Thank God the blade wasn’t running full speed or it would have taken my hand off. I handled everything as calmly as I could. There is no major damage. There is nerve damage, but no muscular damage. They fixed me up and here I am.”
He posted another photo of himself posing with his hand and arm all bandaged up on Sunday (14Sep14) and thanked fans for their support, adding, “Thank u all for your concern & good wishes. All well the morning after the accident. Here I am at the scene of the crime… w/ (with) my new fashion statement!”
And in a brief chat with pal Matt Lauer on the Today show on Monday (15Sep14), the golfer revealed he had an eerie premonition before he packed up his chainsaw.
He said, “A feeling came over me that something bad is gonna happen… I’m not ignoring that feeling again.”
