Gulliver’s Travels tops international box office chart

The big screen adaptation of Jonathan Swift’s 18th century classic edged past Disney’s Tron: Legacy, grossing $24 million (£16 million) outside the North American market to chart internationally at number one, while Jeff Bridges’ sci-fi sequel is second with $23.7 million (£15.8 million).

Comedy Little Fockers, which maintained its title as America’s top film for the second consecutive week this weekend (01-02Jan11), is at three with $22.5 million (£15 million), boosting its worldwide gross to $175.2 million (£116.8 million).

The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader and The Tourist round out the top five.
