Gwyneth Paltrow has shared advice on dealing with emotional pain in her latest blog post following the breakdown of her marriage.
The Iron Man star announced her separation from Coldplay rocker Chris Martin last month (Mar14) by posting a message on her Goop.com lifestyle website. Paltrow has now returned to the page to share tips from her personal “healer” and osteopath Vicky Vlachonis, who has been helping the star deal with “every kind of pain imaginable”.
The article contains excerpts from Vlachonis’ book and the first offering of advice addresses emotional problems and suggests dealing with negative feelings can aid physical healing. Vlachonis writes, “Problems don’t start because of emotions themselves. The trouble comes when you don’t express or release them. Layers of buried emotions build up in our scar tissue, causing adhesions in our fascia, the layer of tissue that stretches around all the muscles and organs. “Once you really see and feel those buried emotions, and can pinpoint where the pain is actually coming from, you can consciously increase the flow of your body’s natural painkillers and anti-inflammatory chemicals to help you release the pain and heal.”
