Gwyneth Paltrow sees ex-husband Chris Martin every day

Gwyneth Paltrow is so close with her ex-husband Chris Martin that they still see and talk to each other every day.

The Avengers star announced her separation from the Coldplay frontman, the father of her children Apple, 14, and Moses, 12, in 2014 after ten years of marriage, and they have remained close friends, with Chris even joining Gwyneth and her new husband Brad Falchuk on their Maldives honeymoon following their wedding in September (18).

In a new interview with Britain’s ES magazine, Gwyneth revealed that they are so close they communicate and see each other daily.

“(Chris) is a very close friend; I see him every day, I talk to him every day. And it was very difficult (at first), but I think you see in the children that they got through it, so I am proud of us, I really am. We kept to our commitment that we would put the children first,” she said.

“Family structure can be reinvented and divorce doesn’t have to be devastating… It doesn’t have to be the end of your relationship with somebody. I think Chris and I were meant to be together and have our kids. But our relationship is much better like this: friends and co-parents and family.”

The 46-year-old explained that they had been separated for a year before they publicly announced their “conscious uncoupling”, and during that time she spoke to friends who had divorced parents and they all gave her similar feedback.

“There was this resounding theme: ‘It was really hard because for the first two years my parents didn’t speak.’ ‘It was awful for a while,’ or ‘My parents hated each other’. And I thought, ‘I would really love to skip that part,'” she recalled.

When asked if she would like to have children with Brad, who has two kids from his previous marriage, Gwyneth ruled it out, stating that she’s “too old” and “wouldn’t survive” looking after babies now.
