Hailee Steinfeld: ‘2015 has been Taylor Swift’s moment’

Singer Hailee Steinfeld found it “amazing” to be part of Taylor Swift’s “incredible” year in 2015.
The 19-year-old is close friends with the Blank Space singer, and has become part of her famous female squad, alongside the likes of supermodels Karlie Kloss and Gigi Hadid, and fellow musician Selena Gomez.
Hailee featured in Taylor’s hugely successful Bad Blood video earlier this year, and as 2015 comes to an end, the star took the opportunity to reflect on her pal’s success during a chat with Rolling Stone magazine.
“I feel like Taylor has had quite a moment this year, and being part of the Bad Blood video and going onstage with her in front of however many people there were that night, to now performing in front of crowds similar in size,” she said. “With Taylor having such an incredible year, being part of that is pretty amazing.”
Hailee is far from riding on Taylor’s coat tails however, and as well as a successful acting career – having starred in movies including True Grit and Pitch Perfect 2 – the star has also made a move into the music industry.
The teen released an EP, Haiz, in November (15) and is following it up with a debut album in the new year (16).
“I am getting back in the studio to finish writing what I can’t believe I am calling my first album,” she added. “So that will be happening and I can’t wait to just play more shows. I’ve been on this Jingle Ball tour, and I get offstage every night and look at my team and I am like, ‘All right, how many hours until the next one?’ I just love it so much.
“This whole world is extremely new to me and I am learning so much every day, but I love the idea that so much is going on in my life right now and I am experiencing so much on so many different fronts. I am so motivated and excited to get back in the studio and be able to pull from that.”
