Hailey Bieber’s trademark request for cosmetics line rejected

Hailey Bieber’s request to trademark her name has been rejected because of her husband Justin Bieber.
According to The Blast, the 22-year-old had filed to trademark Beauty Bieber with plans to launch her own beauty and cosmetics line. But the star’s request has been refused by the United States Patent and Trademark Office because of possible confusion with trademarks already owned by her Sorry hitmaker husband.
Hailey’s application was officially rejected due to a “likelihood of confusion” and “similarity of marks” to Justin’s trademark, which he applied for back in 2003, when he was just nine years old. The timing of the trademark is unusual, as Justin didn’t release his first solo album, My World, until 2009.
The Canadian pop star had registered his name for products such as cosmetics, fragrances, soaps, shampoos and lotions. Hailey’s line of cosmetics would mark her debut solo beauty line, after her previous collaborations with brands including bareMinerals.
Despite her filing for Beauty Bieber being rejected, Hailey has other possibilities, after she trademarked her married name last October (18), just weeks after the couple’s intimate courthouse wedding in New York.
