Halle Berry recruits Salma Hayek for help in custody case

A run-in with a cameraman taking photos of her child outside the four year old’s Los Angeles school in May (12) prompted the Monster’s Ball star, who is in the midst of a bitter custody battle with ex Gabriel Aubry, to step up her fight to relocate Nahla to her fiance Olivier Martinez’s native France.

She claimed the snapper showdown was evidence the tot would be better protected in Europe, where child privacy laws are different, and now she has called her pal Hayek, who lives in France and has a daughter the same age, as an expert witness to back her up.

On Thursday (16Aug12) Berry’s lawyers allegedly filed a declaration from the Frida star, in which Hayek testifies that her life in France is more bearable since laws against snappers are far more rigid, reports TMZ.com.

Berry’s desire to leave the country began last year (11) when a man was arrested for trespassing outside her California home for the third time in as many days. The stalker has since been sentenced to more than 12 months behind bars.
