Halmi facing bankruptcy

RHI Entertainment, the firm behind TV movies including 10.5 Apocalypse and Black Swarm, assumed the debt with 14 lenders when Halmi reacquired his company from Hallmark Entertainment executives in 2006.

Speaking about the acquisition at the time, Halmi told trade paper Daily Variety, “Clearly, we were over-leveraged. But we’re still in business, still making films and business now is pretty good.”

But Halmi has revealed the company is now restructuring its “corporate equity structure”, which could include filing for bankruptcy.
