Halsey is G-Eazy’s ‘person’ to turn to if drugs get him down

Pop star Halsey is determined to help her boyfriend G-Eazy keep his recreational drug use in check following the tragic loss of his close friend Mac Miller.

The Self Care rapper passed away on Friday (07Sep18), aged 26, after he was found unresponsive at his California home.

Coroners have yet to determine an official cause of death, pending toxicology results, but reports suggest he suffered a cardiac arrest following a suspected drug overdose.

The sad news has since prompted a number of his peers, like J. Cole and French Montana, to encourage others battling personal demons to reach out for help before it’s too late, and Halsey reveals she is making sure she is there to support G-Eazy, who is known for dabbling in various substances, if he ever feels like he’s struggling to cope.

“I think any kind of person, celebrity or not, (it) feels like you’re bothering people when you talk about your problems, so you need good people around you who won’t make you feel like you’re bothering them, you know?,” she told TMZ.com.

Asked if she is part of the support system for her rapper beau, she replied, “I’m definitely his person.”

Her comments emerge days after paying a heartfelt tribute to Mac on Instagram, sharing her gratitude for “being the soundtrack” to her high school years, and for his firm friendship with G-Eazy, real name Gerald Earl Gillum, who broke down onstage hours after Miller’s death.

“I thank you from the bottom of my heart for being such a good friend to Gerald,” she wrote. “For making millions of people happy even when you were suffering.”
She then offered a few words of advice for her fans: “Check on your friends. Please,” Halsey continued. “Call them. Tell them you love them. Be a resource that comes with no judgment. Let your friends unfold without feeling like they are burdening you. Rest easy, Mac. We love you so so so very much.”

Halsey and G-Eazy rekindled their romance in late August (18), just weeks after calling time on their year-long relationship in early July, and she made the reunion Instagram official last week (ends07Sep18) by posting snaps of the couple online, having joined her Him & I collaborator onstage at a pair of his concerts.
