Henry Winkler & Alex Borstein win first Primetime Emmy Awards

TV veteran Henry Winkler got the 70th annual Primetime Emmy Awards off to a winning start on Monday (17Sep18) after landing the ceremony’s first prize.
The former Happy Days star scored the Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series trophy for his role as acting coach Gene Cousineau in Barry.
The beloved star received a standing ovation as he hit the stage, and joked he wrote his acceptance speech “43 years ago”.
The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel star Alex Borstein was another early winner, picking up the Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series.
She hit the stage after removing her jacket and then realised she had perhaps left a certain item at home.
“I went without the bra,” she joked, before poking fun at women who use public restrooms: “If you sit, we can all sit. Stop peeing on the seat!”
Brits Millie Bobby Brown and Emilia Clarke then handed the Emmy for Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series to Amy Sherman-Palladino for The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.
