Herbie Hide’s jail sentence reduced

Disgraced former boxer Herbie Hide has had his 22-month prison sentence for taking part in a cocaine deal reduced to 18 months. Hide was jailed last November (13) after pleading guilty to a charge of conspiring to supply cocaine when he was caught by a newspaper sting.
The sentence was reduced by four months after an appeal by Hide’s lawyers.
London Court of Appeal Judge Mark Lucraft, QC reduced the boxer’s jail term because of the “sting element” of the case.
Hide, 42, was arrested earlier last year (13) following an investigation by journalists at British tabloid The Sun on Sunday, during which he contacted a drug dealer who stated he could sell the reporters cocaine.
