Hogan to return to Australia for son’s wedding

The actor has been embroiled in a long-running dispute with tax officials in his native country and last year (10) he was barred from returning to his home in Los Angeles after attending his mother’s funeral in Sydney. The order came over allegations he owed millions of dollars in back payments.

He was eventually given permission to leave Australia and a criminal inquiry into his financial dealings was dropped last November (10), but a probe by the Australian Tax Office (ATO) is still ongoing.

Hogan wants to return to the country in December (10) to see his son get married, but fears he will face another stand-off with the tax office.

He tells Australia’s Macquarie Radio, “I’m coming back (to Australia) next month for my son’s wedding, and I’ve got to get permission to come back for the wedding under some sort of undertaking that I’ll be allowed to leave after the wedding. It’s sort of like being on bond, like I’m out on bail. But I’ve not been charged with anything. It’s stupid.”
