Hugh Hefner’s Hollywood Walk of Fame star has been vandalized by a fan attempting to pay tribute to the late Playboy founder.

Hefner passed away last Wednesday (27Sep17) at the age of 91.

He was laid to rest on Saturday (30Sep17) in a private funeral at Westwood Village Memorial Park in Los Angeles, in a plot next to late movie star Marilyn Monroe.

On the day of his funeral, a fan decided to pay their own tribute to the late publisher by writing graffiti on his Walk of Fame star.

A picture obtained by editors at website The Blast shows Hefner’s star covered with the initials “R.I.P. (Rest In Peace)” and a picture of a crown.

A Walk of Fame official told The Blast they are seeking the culprit, who could be charged with vandalism and forced to pay for the star’s restoration.

The official called the act “disrespectful” and said that bosses at the Hollywood Historic Trust, the charity which oversees the Walk of Fame on Hollywood Boulevard, had been contacted about restoring the landmark.

In February (17) James Lambert Otis, a man who damaged President Donald Trump’s star on the Hollywood attraction, was sentenced to three years probation and ordered to pay $3,700 to the Hollywood Historic Trust and $700 to the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce to cover the cost of repairs.
