Hunt gave brave surfer’s mum the courage to return to the waves

The As Good As It Gets star portrays Cheri Hamilton in the Bethany Hamilton biopic and admits she spent much of the film trying to get the young surfer’s mum to hit the waves again.

Hunt says, “Her mother was a big wave surfer in Kauai in the 70s and she had not gotten back in the water since this happened to her daughter and I brought her back in the water.”
