Idris Elba rushed to hospital after suffering asthma attack on plane

Actor Idris Elba was rushed to hospital on Saturday (02Nov13) after falling ill on a plane preparing to depart to South Africa. The Wire star was due to attend a press conference in Johannesburg for his upcoming Nelson Mandela biopic, Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom, but failed to make the journey after suffering an asthma attack on the aircraft.
The actor was immediately rushed to hospital from London’s Heathrow Airport, but is now reportedly recovering well.
Producer Anant Singh says on Sunday (03Nov13), “Idris is in hospital after an asthma attack on the plane last night.”
