Iggy Azalea curses on U.K. radio

Australian rapper Iggy Azalea turned the airwaves blue in the U.K. on Sunday (14Jul13) when she swore during a live radio interview. The star, real name Amethyst Kelly, was a guest on Britain’s BBC Radio 1 and during the chat, she told presenter Jameela Jamil about travelling to Miami, Florida without her parents as a teenager in a bid to establish her music career.
She said, “I was 16, with no money and no family in the middle of Miami, that’s very true, but I didn’t just tell my mum, ‘Hey p**s off, I’m going to another country and never coming back’.”
Jamil was quick to reprimand the star, declaring, “Bad language!” prompting Azalea to reply, “That’s not a technical swear word.”
The radio host then stated, “We’re sorry for that language if you were offended by it. It’s the BBC, we don’t condone it but we always have pop stars.”
However, Azalea remained unrepentant, adding, “I’m a rap star, so you know, we’re naughty sometimes.”
