Jackson, Piven take stage for 9/11 play

The Pulp Fiction actor and Piven will take the stage for 110 Stories, a production which highlights the hope and human compassion that erupted after the devastating terrorist attacks in New York City on September 11, 2001.

Playwright Sarah Tuft says, “I wrote 110 Stories to preserve, not just history, but also a window into who we really are as revealed by our behaviour under extreme circumstances. I am thrilled at the overwhelming support from the acting community to participate in this production.”

Body Heat star Kathleen Turner, Oscar-winner Melissa Leo, Boardwalk Empire’s Vincent Piazza, and The Sopranos actress Jamie-Lynne Sigler have also signed on to bring Tuft’s work to life.

The play will be staged at New York University’s Skirball Center for the Performing Arts for two nights in September (08-09Sep11).

Proceeds from the production will benefit the New York Says Thank You Foundation, an organisation which provides volunteers to needy U.S. communities as a means of showing the city’s thanks for the continued support it received in the aftermath of the World Trade Center tragedy.
