Jailed Lillo Brancato, Jr. granted freedom

The Sopranos star Lillo Brancato, Jr. will start 2014 as a free man after he was cleared for release from prison this week (beg30Dec13). The 37-year-old actor was sentenced to 10 years behind bars in 2008 for his part in a burglary that ended with the murder of an off-duty New York City cop.
He was due to be freed in July, 2014, but he has agreed a deal with authorities for early release.
After leaving prison on Tuesday (31Dec13), he will serve five years on parole with a curfew, according to the New York Post.
Brancato, Jr. told fans about his imminent release through a series of tweets on Monday (30Dec13), writing, “Tomorrow is my last full day in prison. I go home (soon)… With that being said, this will be my last tweet from prison. Thank you for your love and support. I love you all!”
