James Franco releasing poetry book

The 127 Hours star, who has dabbled in everything from teaching to moviemaking, has penned a collection of lyrical verses called Directing Herbert White.

The piece will be about his work on adapting Frank Bidart’s poem Herbert White into a short film, and Franco tells the New York Times, “(It will be) about my relationship to that poem, Frank’s relationship to the poem as I have learned about it from knowing Frank and the adaptation process.”

The multi-talented hunk, who has previously played authors Allen Ginsberg and Hart Crane on the big screen, certainly has the credentials for the project – he holds a master of fine arts in poetry from North Carolina’s Warren Wilson College.

The book is due to be released by Graywolf Press in April, 2014.
