James Franco tapped as face of new Coach fragrance

James Franco has been named as the face of Coach’s new men’s fragrance.
The actor and filmmaker will front the campaign for the upcoming scent Coach for Men, which is due to launch later in the year (17).
Speaking about his latest gig, James shared that he appreciates Coach’s heritage and designs, and is a fan of creative director Stuart Vevers’ work.
“Creativity is the way I engage with life. It’s the way I engage with other people and communicate, and it’s really the way I find meaning in life,” he told WWD. “I enjoyed collaborating with Stuart. There are a lot of references to Coach tradition in his designs, but with an added spin, and that idea is something I have done in my creative work.”
In one image released from the campaign, James is seen posing in a vintage car while wearing a printed T-shirt and black leather jacket. With regards to the 39-year-old’s casting, Vevers added that he is a natural fit for the brand due to his rugged yet sophisticated personal style and image.
“James is the quintessential-cool Coach guy,” the designer gushed. “He’s handsome, there’s a bit of danger and he’s thoughtful and challenging, energetic and prolific. He represents so many of the references I’ve used at Coach – references of American style that resonate around the world.”
James isn’t the only star to align himself with the New York-based fashion company, as his Spring Breakers co-star Selena Gomez was named as an official brand ambassador late last year (16).
Coach, which is known for its luxury leather goods, first launched fragrance in 2016 with Coach Eau de Parfum, a feminine scent which features notes of raspberry, Turkish rose and suede musk.
